New Orleans October 17, 2025
The New Orleans Saints are finally whole again. After weeks of battling injuries and inconsistency, head coach Kellen Moore has received exactly the news he’s been waiting for — cornerback Isaac Yiadom has returned to practice, completing what Moore called “the final piece” of the team’s defensive puzzle.
Yiadom, who missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, resumed full-speed drills Thursday alongside his teammates. His return brings stability to a Saints secondary that has been forced to lean heavily on rookie Quincy Riley, who impressed with two pass breakups over the past two weeks. Now, Moore believes the combination of experience and youth will give New Orleans a much-needed spark heading into Week 7 against the Chicago Bears.
“It feels good to have everyone back,” Moore said after practice. “We’ve had guys step up, and that’s what you want from a team. But when you get your veteran corner back — the guy who brings leadership and poise — it lifts everyone’s confidence.”
On the offensive side, Alvin Kamara also rejoined practice Thursday after nursing an ankle injury, giving the Saints another boost as they prepare for their first road game since Week 4. Moore described the atmosphere at practice as “focused, energized, and ready.”
“We’ve been through tough stretches,” Moore added. “But I like where our team is mentally. The energy is back, the chemistry is real, and this locker room still believes.”
At 1–4, the Saints know that every game from here on out matters — and that momentum often starts with one solid week of health and preparation. With Kamara’s explosiveness returning to the backfield and Yiadom’s presence reinforcing the secondary, the Saints look poised to make their move.
The final pieces are back in place. The message from Kellen Moore to his team is clear:
“No excuses. We’re healthy, we’re hungry, and it’s time to go win football games.” ⚜️
