Former Saints legend Drew Brees officially inducted into the Hall of Fame – Behind the glory lies the legendary journey of New Orleans’ true hero
New Orleans, October 15, 2025
After more than two decades of conquering every possible peak in his career, Drew Brees – widely regarded as the heart and soul of the New Orleans Saints – is now closer than ever to the highest honor an NFL player can receive: a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Eligible for the first time, Brees is considered a virtual lock for the upcoming Hall of Fame class. Over 20 seasons from 2001 to 2020, including 15 years with the Saints, he left behind a legacy that is irreplaceable – both on the field and in the hearts of Louisiana fans.
Brees began his career with the San Diego Chargers, where he earned just one Pro Bowl nod before suffering a devastating shoulder injury. Yet that setback became the turning point of his journey: signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2006, a city still rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. He not only revitalized the franchise but also led them to their first and only Super Bowl title in 2009 (Super Bowl XLIV).
Throughout his illustrious career, Brees shattered countless records – over 80,000 passing yards, 571 touchdowns, and 12 Pro Bowl selections. He was named Super Bowl MVP and earned multiple All-Pro honors. Known for his precision, leadership, and relentless work ethic, Brees redefined what it means to be the hero of the Crescent City.
Even after retirement, Brees’ legacy continues to shine. His 2001 Playoff Contenders rookie autograph card, from the same set as Tom Brady’s iconic rookie card, has become one of the most valuable collectibles in sports. In 2021, it sold for over $40,000, a testament to his enduring impact on and off the field.
Now, with his name officially entering Hall of Fame consideration, Saints fans – and the entire NFL community – share one sentiment: this isn’t just recognition; it’s destiny.
“Brees isn’t just a great player – he’s a symbol of faith, resilience, and loyalty,” a former teammate said. “I’ve seen him play through pain, through bruises, and never once complain. For Brees, every game was a promise to this city.”
If elected, Drew Brees will officially join the ranks of the NFL’s immortals – a place reserved for legends whose greatness will never fade.
