INJURY UPDATE: Steelers OT Suffers Gruesome Neck Injury on Dirty Bears Hit – Video of the Intentional Shot Has the Entire NFL Furious
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 24/11/2025
The Pittsburgh Steelers left Soldier Field with a 31–28 loss to the Chicago Bears, but the moment that froze the entire NFL didn’t come from the scoreboard. It came in the third quarter, when Broderick Jones — No. 77, the powerful Right Tackle and cornerstone of the offensive line — collapsed after a brutal collision with edge rusher Dominique Robinson.
The hit violently snapped Jones’ neck to the side, and he immediately crumpled to the turf. Steelers players sprinted toward him, while medical staff rushed in to examine his neck and shoulder — the areas linemen fear most. Jones was escorted into the sideline tent, and many believed his night was over.

Yet in true warrior fashion, he fought back onto the field and finished 45 of the remaining 70 snaps. After the game, however, Steelers officials confirmed he had suffered a severe stinger, a nerve injury in the neck that can linger and is especially dangerous for trench players.
Pittsburgh’s offensive line powered a dominant 186-yard rushing performance, but the emotional toll was written all over Jones’ face.
Inside the locker room, when asked about the moment he fell, Jones delivered a haunting reflection:
“When my neck went numb and my arm completely lost all feeling after that violent collision, I honestly thought that was the moment everything ended — and what scared me the most wasn’t the pain, but the thought that a single play like that could erase an entire career I’ve spent my whole life trying to protect.”
Head coach Mike Tomlin later confirmed Jones is questionable for next week’s matchup against the Ravens, and the medical staff will conduct further MRI tests to ensure no long-term nerve damage.
“Broderick fought through it — tough kid, but we have to be extremely cautious,” Tomlin said.
Jones’ potential absence is a major blow for Pittsburgh — not only losing a dominant run blocker but the anchor who stabilizes both pass protection and the rhythm of the offense.
The Steelers lost to the Bears, but the fear that washed over the sideline when Broderick Jones hit the ground may linger far longer than the scoreboard.
