Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco hit back at analyst Skip Bayless’s claim that he’s “washed” following the team’s gritty 13-10 comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. The win, which snapped Green Bay’s 2-0 streak, showcased Flacco’s veteran poise despite a tough outing.
Bayless tweeted that rookie Shedeur Sanders would have led Cleveland to an easier win, but Flacco deflected the criticism, pointing to the Packers’ elite defense. “You know, the issue wasn’t our offense—it was their defense,” Flacco said. “The Packers have a top NFL guy in Micah Parsons, and we needed two guys just to contain him.”
Flacco, who went 21-of-36 for 142 yards with one interception, orchestrated a late rally from a 10-0 deficit at Huntington Bank Field. The Browns’ offense faced constant pressure from Parsons, who demanded double-teams and chip blocks, limiting Cleveland’s output but not their resolve.
Fans on X rallied behind Flacco, with @BrownsBark tweeting, “Washed? Flacco just outdueled Love!” As the 1-2 Browns prepare for Week 4, Flacco’s response silences doubters, proving he’s still a clutch leader against the NFL’s best defenses.
