Saints QB Spencer Rattler Apologizes to Fans After Patriots Loss, Taking Full Responsibility for the Team’s Defeat in a Crucial Game
New Orleans, October 14, 2025
After a crushing 19–25 loss to the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler stepped up to take responsibility — not just as a player, but as a leader.

Facing the cameras in the locker room, the young quarterback didn’t make excuses. His tone was humble, his words sincere.
“I want to apologize to every Saints fan out there,” Rattler said. “You deserve better than what I gave on that field. I’ll take the blame — no one else. I just ask for one more chance to show that I can be the quarterback this city believes in.”
Rattler, who has faced intense scrutiny in his first full season as a starter, completed just 54% of his passes against New England and threw a costly interception late in the fourth quarter. Despite flashes of brilliance in previous games, his inconsistency has frustrated fans who expect more from the promising young signal-caller.
“I’m not here to point fingers,” Rattler added. “I’ll go back to the tape, fix what needs fixing, and fight harder next week. I promise I’ll be better — I owe that to my teammates, my coaches, and to everyone in the Dome who keeps believing in us.”
Head coach Kellen Moore later expressed his support for Rattler, saying the quarterback “owns his mistakes like a pro” and has “the talent and heart to bounce back stronger.”
The Saints, now standing at 1–5, will have another chance to turn things around when they face the Chicago Bears next week. For Rattler, it’s not just another game — it’s a chance for redemption, and perhaps, to win back the faith of an entire city.
