Senator Sean Ryan Thanks Josh Allen for Leading Buffalo’s Fight Against Hunger – A Heartfelt Act That Wins the City’s Trust Amid His Mayoral Campaign
Buffalo, New York – November 3, 2025
As winter approaches and the cost of living continues to rise across Buffalo, State Senator Sean Ryan, who currently leads the race to become the next Mayor of Buffalo, has officially launched the “Buffalo Strong, Buffalo Fed” campaign — a citywide call for unity to combat hunger and food insecurity.
According to recent data, more than 150,000 residents in Erie County — including tens of thousands of children — are struggling to access affordable, nutritious meals. With inflation and housing costs climbing, more families are turning to SNAP benefits and local food programs to get by.

Speaking at a press conference held at Delaware Park, Senator Ryan emphasized:
“A strong city cannot allow anyone to go hungry. When Buffalo stands together, we share more than food — we share compassion.”
Moments later, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen became the first to answer the call, donating $100,000 through his personal foundation to support FeedMore WNY, Buffalo City Mission, and Hearts for the Homeless, helping deliver fresh meals and essential groceries to struggling families across East and West Buffalo.
Allen’s words left the crowd silent and emotional:
“This isn’t just where I play football — this is home. Buffalo has taught me that real strength isn’t in your muscles, it’s in your heart. We live and fight for a brighter tomorrow — so everyone can have a better life. As part of this city, I don’t want to see anyone in Buffalo left behind.”
Josh Allen’s gesture quickly sparked a wave of community response. Senator Ryan publicly thanked him, calling the quarterback “the spark that inspires a city to rise together.”
“Josh isn’t just the face of the Buffalo Bills — he’s the embodiment of what this city stands for: resilience, generosity, and heart. When someone like him leads by example, people follow.”
The “Buffalo Strong, Buffalo Fed” campaign aims to raise over $3 million this winter to provide meals, groceries, and essential aid to families in need.
Within hours of its launch, the hashtag #BuffaloStrong flooded social media, with local businesses, restaurants, and Bills fans pledging donations and support, calling it “the most Buffalo thing ever.”
Whether seen as a campaign effort or a genuine act of compassion, one thing is undeniable: Sean Ryan and Josh Allen have reignited the true spirit of Buffalo — where strength isn’t measured by victories on the field, but by the kindness that unites a city. 💙
