Steelers Legend Terry Bradshaw Speaks Out After Pittsburgh’s Unconvincing Win – Says “Ghost Whistles” Made the Game Unfair for the Colts, and Admits He Feels Ashamed Because He Spent His Life Fighting With Heart, Not With the Whistle
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – November 3, 2025
Following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 27-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on November 2, 2025, franchise legend Terry Bradshaw made headlines after openly admitting that the win “wasn’t entirely earned.” Speaking candidly on FOX Sports, the four-time Super Bowl champion said he believed several controversial referee decisions – or as he called them, “ghost whistles” – played a decisive role in the outcome.
Bradshaw reflected with striking honesty:
“I spent my whole life battling the Colts back when they were still in Baltimore, going up against the legendary ‘Golden Arm’ Johnny Unitas. I fought with heart, with determination, to earn every win — not by listening to a whistle decide it for me. Seeing that happen to the team I love today makes me uncomfortable and ashamed.”

The controversy erupted late in the fourth quarter when the Colts’ defense was flagged for a highly questionable pass interference call, giving the Steelers first-and-goal at the 1-yard line. Pittsburgh capitalized immediately, punching in the game-winning touchdown that sealed the 27-20 final score.
Bradshaw’s remarks instantly divided fans. Some accused him of being too harsh on the modern Steelers, while others praised his integrity — calling it a reminder of the values that built the franchise’s championship legacy in the 1970s.
On the other side, Colts head coach Shane Steichen chose his words carefully, saying, “We fought hard, but sometimes justice doesn’t reach the field.”
For Bradshaw, though, this wasn’t about the scoreboard. It was about the spirit of the game — the belief that true victories are earned through grit, not gifted by controversy. His words carried a timeless message: sometimes what makes you proud isn’t the win itself, but how you earned it.
The NFL’s response left everyone stunned. In an official statement released Monday morning, the league said there was “nothing unusual” about the game and that “all officiating decisions made during the Steelers-Colts matchup were correct and in line with NFL regulations.”
