TIME CHANGE: Packers vs Cardinals – NFL Adjusts Schedule Ahead of Sunday Showdown
TIME UPDATE: Packers vs. Cardinals – NFL Adjusts Schedule Ahead of Sunday Showdown
Glendale, Arizona – October 19, 2025
The NFL is keeping a close watch on the developing situation involving the Green Bay Packers’ delayed arrival in Arizona, which could potentially affect the start time of Sunday’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers’ charter flight encountered a serious mechanical issue on Saturday, causing a delay of nearly six hours before the team was able to board a replacement aircraft later that evening. The setback left Green Bay arriving in Glendale much later than planned, sparking uncertainty about their pre-game preparation and overall readiness.
Compounding the concern, running back Josh Jacobs and cornerback Keisean Nixon were both dealing with illnesses earlier in the week. With the team’s travel schedule thrown off, league officials are now assessing whether a kickoff adjustment may be necessary should the Packers’ arrival or health evaluations create logistical complications.
“The league is maintaining contact with both organizations and local medical personnel,” an NFL spokesperson confirmed early Sunday. “Our decisions will always prioritize the health and safety of players and staff.”
Team sources say the Packers landed late Saturday night and immediately began implementing emergency recovery protocols, including shortened walkthroughs and limited player interaction to prevent potential illness spread. Head coach Matt LaFleur described the group as “resilient and locked in,” but admitted that final roster decisions would likely come down to the wire.
As of now, kickoff remains scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET, but officials have acknowledged that a short postponement is possible if further complications arise from the team’s travel delay or medical concerns.
No formal announcement has been made regarding a change in game time, though multiple league sources confirmed that the NFL has contingency plans in place should the Packers be unable to arrive and prepare safely in time for the scheduled kickoff.
