Trade Proposal Sees Packers Sell-High on Veteran Player After Breakout Performance

The Green Bay Packers' wide receiver Romeo Doubs delivered a breakout game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, hauling in six passes for 58 yards and three touchdowns to secure a tie. This stellar performance has sparked a trade proposal from Bleacher Report's Alex Kay, who suggests shipping Doubs to the Arizona Cardinals for a swap of fifth and seventh-round picks in 2026.
Doubs' explosive outing, his most productive of his career, boosted his season totals to 179 yards and four touchdowns on 13 receptions. "Although he’s not an elite superstar who can single-handedly change a game, Doubs is a quality No. 2 WR who can be a perfect complement to up-and-coming No. 1 option Marvin Harrison Jr.," Kay wrote. The Nevada product has shown flashes but hasn't emerged as Green Bay's go-to target over four seasons, never topping 700 yards in a year.
The Cardinals, struggling at No. 28 in passing with just 164.8 yards per game, could use Doubs to unlock Kyler Murray's arm. Arizona has lacked big plays, with no gains over 18 yards in Week 4, making Doubs' deep-threat ability a fit to revive their offense.
For the Packers, trading Doubs is tempting with their deep receiver room. Rookie Matthew Golden has flashed potential but lags behind in snaps, targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. A deal would push Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams, or Malik Heath into bigger roles, especially with Jayden Reed and Christian Watson sidelined by injuries.
At 2-1-1 heading into their bye week, the Packers boast Super Bowl aspirations after acquiring Micah Parsons. Recouping draft capital sounds appealing, but offloading a reliable veteran like Doubs could disrupt their offensive productivity at a critical juncture.
As Green Bay evaluates its options, this proposal highlights the balance between building for the future and contending now. Will the Packers cash in on Doubs' hot streak, or hold firm for a title run?
