Washington Commanders owner expresses admiration for Patriots QB1 Drake Maye after impressive performance from the beginning of the season
The American football world is abuzz with rumors that Josh Harris, chairman and owner of the Washington Commanders, has expressed special admiration for Drake Maye, the QB1 of the New England Patriots, who is currently performing at an elite level in the NFL this season.

According to leaked sources from within the Commanders, Harris has watched nearly all of Maye’s games since the start of the season. The $8.5 billion tycoon is reportedly “greatly impressed with the composure, accuracy, and on-field leadership” displayed by the young star in the Patriots’ uniform.
Since the 2025 season began, Maye has brought a fresh breeze to New England. With over 1,380 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions in 5 games, he has transformed the Patriots from a rebuilding team into one of the most exciting phenomena in the NFL. Many experts believe Maye has the potential to join the league’s top quarterbacks in just his second year of professional play.
In a recent statement, Josh expressed his admiration for the Patriots’ QB1:
“Drake Maye has it all – skill, poise, and the mentality of a champion. He plays like he’s been in the NFL for 10 years. If he ever wants to come to Washington, I’m ready to spend big. I’ll make him the richest player in the NFL and turn the Commanders into a true empire.”
Although the Washington Commanders currently have a promising young QB in Jayden Daniels, observers note that Harris’s comments reflect a genuine level of admiration for Maye’s talent. Harris is known as a bold sports investor, having aggressively restructured the entire Commanders roster just one year after taking ownership.
The Patriots have yet to comment on the praise from Washington, but Harris’s remarks have set the media ablaze. Some sources at ESPN suggest that if the Patriots don’t soon secure Maye with a long-term contract, the Commanders could become the most dangerous competitor in the QB market in the near future.
